Where’s Spot by Eric Hill
This lift-the-flap book has endured for decades because it’s so darn good. Spot’s mother, Sally, is trying to find him. She looks inside the clock, under the bed, and so on – finding a range of animals hiding behind flaps before she finds her missing puppy.
Try repeating “where’s spot?” on each page to encourage your child to start saying two word phrases.
Probe your child’s reading comprehension by asking your child who Spot is (many children will confuse Sally with Spot!).
Recommended age: 1 – 2 years
