“Rain!” a boy, and a man say, when they look out their window one day. They have very different responses to the weather, with the man grumbling to himself about “‘Nasty galoshes'” and a “‘Blasted overcoat'”. Meanwhile, the little boy exclaims excitedly, “‘It’s raining frogs and golliwogs!'”.
This is a lovely book with gorgeous illustrations for which Christian Robinson (who is black), was awarded the Ezra Jack Keats New Illustrator Award in 2014.
