This is an Oprah’s Book Club pick and recommended by the American Library Association – and it’s not hard to see why. Just look at the cover! 6 beautiful photographs of young children of all shades.
“Have you noticed that people come in many different shades?” the book asks. It then goes on to explore them through a selection of photographs of young children from a variety of ethnic backgrounds.
Why Maya Loves it: This book captivated both my children from when they were babies right through to toddlerhood. As it does not have a storyline, it’s a great one to dip into or use as a visual aid for tummy time without feeling any pressure to read it from cover to cover.
