This Jazz Man by Karen Ehrhardt
Sung to the tune of “This Old Man”, This Jazz Man is a singing, counting book, featuring 9 black jazz giants. Satchmo plays one, Bojangles plays two…right on down the line to Charles Mingus, who plays nine, plucking strings that sound “divine.”
The illustrations are exceptional, with a mouse to find on each page.
Get your feet ready to tap, and your hand ready to slap your knee to the beat. An absolute must-have.
What Maya loves: It feels a little dramatic to say that it’s hard for me to imagine parenting my two children without this book. But it’s also the truth! It’s great one for joint storytimes with children of different ages. Makes a great gift, too.
